Genetic health considerations
Each kitten receives a thorough veterinary examination by a licensed veterinarian before leaving our care. This examination ensures the kitten is healthy and free from any congenital defects or health issues.
Our kittens receive FVRCP vaccinations appropriate for their age. We follow the recommended vaccination schedule and provide detailed records so you can continue care with your veterinarian.
All kittens receive regular deworming treatments starting at an early age. This preventive care ensures your kitten is free from internal parasites.
Our breeding cats are tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) to ensure they are negative. This testing protects the health of both our cats and your new kitten.
You will receive complete health records documenting all veterinary care, vaccinations, deworming treatments, and examination results. These records are essential for continuing care with your veterinarian.
We carefully select our breeding pairs to minimize genetic health risks. Siberian cats are generally a healthy breed, but we remain vigilant about genetic conditions and make informed breeding decisions to promote the health of future generations.
We require that you take your new kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of receiving them. This examination must confirm the kitten's health status. If a congenital defect or health issue that was present at the time of adoption is diagnosed within this period, we will work with you to address the situation.
We provide a one-year genetic health guarantee against life-threatening genetic defects. If your kitten is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian with a life-threatening congenital or hereditary condition within the first year, we will replace the kitten or provide a refund of the adoption fee (excluding shipping costs). This guarantee requires proper veterinary care and documentation.
The health guarantee does not cover:
Siberian cats are generally a robust and healthy breed with few breed-specific health concerns. Their natural development over centuries in harsh climates has contributed to their strong constitution and overall hardiness.
However, like all breeds, there are some conditions we monitor for:
Our careful selection of breeding cats and health testing help minimize the risk of these conditions. We stay current with research and best practices in Siberian cat health.
Maintaining your kitten's health is a partnership between us and you. To ensure the health guarantee remains valid, we require that you:
We recommend establishing a relationship with a veterinarian before bringing your kitten home. Your veterinarian will be your partner in maintaining your kitten's health throughout their life.
Regular veterinary care should include:
We are always available to discuss health concerns and provide guidance. Your kitten's health and happiness are important to us, even after they go home with you.
